Travel & Accommodation
When should we get there?
We’ll be heading up to Tahoe on that Wednesday (June 11th) and expect most people will be arriving on Friday (June 12th). Arrive as early as you want so that you can enjoy the beauty of Tahoe.
We’ll be hosting a relaxed Welcome BBQ on Friday afternoon so that we get to spend more time with you during this special weekend!
What is the nearest airport?
The closest major airport to Tahoe is Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO), approximately 45 minutes away by car. Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is about 2 hours away.
What are the transportation options from the airport to the venue?
You can rent a car, use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft, or book a shuttle service. We recommend renting a car for flexibility as public transportation is limited in the area and rideshares can include long waits during peak season.
Where should we stay?
Our venue is in Tahoma, which is halfway between North and South Tahoe. We have booked our lodging at Cedar Crest Cottages in Homewood, CA.
There are lots of fun options in Tahoe City and South Shore. If you would like to stay close to the venue, we recommend checking out the Cedar Crest Cottages or Meek's Bay Lodge.
Is it too early to book our lodging?
No, if anything, we recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible! Lake Tahoe during the summer is very busy, and we expect lodging to especially book up fast since it is also Father’s Day weekend.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there is parking available at Sugar Point State Park near the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion. However, space is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
Parking is free for wedding guests, but please note that it is on a first-come, first-served basis and our wedding is during peak season.
Where exactly is the wedding taking place?
Our ceremony and reception will be at Sugar Point State Park, in front of the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion by Lake Tahoe. The park address is 7595 W. Lake Blvd., Tahoma, CA 96142.
If you type in "Hellman-Ehrman Mansion" into your maps, it should take you right to the parking lot of the venue.
Weather & Attire
What should we wear?
For the wedding and reception, you should wear whatever makes you feel most beautiful! We will be in semi-formal wear. Our venue is outside and there will be lots of dancing at the reception, so comfy shoes would serve you well. For those guests who were planning on wearing heels, we recommend block heels or shoes that easily allow you to walk on grass.
June in Tahoe can be really hot in the day and chilly at night, so we recommend layers. For our guests not as familiar with elevation, the temperatures in the mountains will feel hotter than the highs when in the sun, and feel lower than the forecast once the sun goes down.
What is the expected weather for the time of year?
Tahoe in June typically has warm days and cooler evenings, with temperatures ranging from the high 70's to the low 40's. We recommend checking the weather forecast a few days before the event.
Do I need to bring a jacket or layers for the evening?
Yes, evenings in Tahoe can be cool, so it’s best to have a jacket or wrap on hand. The alcohol may also warm you up.
Activities and Attractions
What fun activities are there to do in the area?
We’re so excited to have you join us in Tahoe, and we’d love to share a few of our favorite spots with you while you’re here. Tahoe offers plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and scenic drives.
Sugar Pine Point State Park
Sugar Pine Point is one of our favorite places to wander and is where our wedding is! The trails are beautiful, and the historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion is worth a visit. It’s a relaxing spot for a walk or a picnic right on the lake. We also love to take our paddle boards and kayaks here.
Emerald Bay State Park
Emerald Bay is one of the most breathtaking spots around, and it’s a short drive away. You can hike to some incredible viewpoints, visit the charming Vikingsholm Castle, or enjoy a peaceful picnic by the water.
Eat, drink, and be merry!
Are there any group activities planned for the weekend?
Most of our guests will be flying in and we are hosting a welcome BBQ the day before the wedding (Friday, 6/13/25) so that we can spend more time with you! Details will be sent out via email.
Ceremony and Reception Details
What time should guests arrive for the ceremony?
Please arrive by 4:59pm as the ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Our guests will receive free parking passes, so there shouldn’t be a need to buy a pass the ranger. It is about a 15 minute walk from the parking lot to the ceremony.
When does the reception end?
We’ll party on until 10:00pm!
Will transportation be provided between the ceremony and reception sites?
Not necessary; both the ceremony and reception will be held in the same location.
Are children allowed?
Absolutely! Expect an EDM version of Baby Shark at some point in the night. Your kiddos should be named in your RSVP, but if not please reach out to Kyle or Kristine.
What is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by April 30, 2025.
